  • Etymology: "Named after Tapputi (as a noun in apposition), who is considered the world’s first recorded chemist and perfumer. Tapputi was also referred to as Tapputi-Belatekallim, which means the female overseer of a palace. One of Tapputi’s perfume recipes written on clay tablets in Babylonian Mesopotamia over 3,200 years ago was recreated in 2022."
