Coleophoma eucalypticola Crous , legitimate, scientific
Crous, P.W. & Groenewald, J.Z. (30 May 2016), They seldom occur alone. Fungal Biology 120: 1404 [nom. nov.]
replaced synonym: Neofabraea eucalypti Cheew. & Crous legitimate nomenclatural synonym: Parafabraea eucalypti (Cheew. & Crous) Chen Chen, Verkley & Crous legitimate
  • Text: "Parafabraea was recently described as a sexual morph similar to Neofabraea and Pezicula, but being distinct by having seta-like structures around its apothecia (Chen et al. 2016). In the present study however, Parafabraea was found to be the sexual morph of Coleophoma, which is a much older, and well-established genus. Because the epithet ‘eucalypti’ is occupied in Coleophoma (Yuan 1996), a new name, eucalypticola, is introduced to accommodate this fungus."
