Etymology:
"Named after Nancy Tyson Burbidge (1912−1977), an Australian systemic botanist and the first female curator of the National Australian Herbarium. Nancy Burbidge published the Dictionary of Australian Plant Genera (1963), the first comprehensive paper on the phytogeography of the Australian region. Nancy Burbidge was awarded an Order of Australia in 1976 for services to botany."
