Etymology:
"Name refers to ‘Mokare’ (c. 1800–26 June 1831), an indigenous Australian Noogar from the south-west corner of Australia, who was pivotal in aiding European exploration of the area, and showed explorers the various walking trails in the area where this fungus was collected."
