  • Type: "Holotype / Isolated in October 1995 from mummified C. aethiops larvae (Fig. 7a) at Lawn Hill National Park, far-north Queensland (18°358 S, 138°358 E). Ascospores and a growing culture have been deposited at ARSEF (5145) and CBS (404.96)."
  • Etymology: "'Subcuticulata' from the Latin 'subcuticulina' meaning under the cuticle; term refers to the location of accumulated spore-cysts in infected Chalicodoma aethiops larvae."
